  Betagi (Barguna) Correspondent | Daily Seshkatha Tuesday, December 18, 2025 BETAGI, BARGUNA – The Betagi Upazila Administration celebrated the 54th Victory Day with due solemnity and patriotic fervor on Tuesday. A key highlight of the day’s program was a heartfelt reception accorded to the valiant freedom fighters of the upazila at the Upazila Conference Hall. Reception and Discussion The program was presided over by the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), Muha. Saddam Hossain. Staff Correspondent | Barguna December 18 2025 A special doa-mahfil was held in Barguna today, offering prayers for the immediate recovery and sound health of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. The programme was organised by the Barguna Sadar Upazila unit of the Barguna Secondary Teachers’ Association. It took place at the Adarsha Secondary Girls’ School in the municipality area at 4:00 PM on Wednesday.   Daily Seshkatha News Barguna, Bangladesh: The Barguna Liberation War Museum—once a vital centre for preserving the district’s history of sacrifice and heroism—has remained abandoned, empty, and padlocked for more than a year. The museum was vandalised and looted on August 5 last year amid nationwide unrest following the fall of the Awami League government. What was once a vibrant archive of Liberation War memories has now become a symbol of neglect. The museum previously showcased more than 300 rare wartime photographs, collected by local organisers since 1995. These photos were regularly displayed at major national events across the district. The museum also preserved historic books, documents, and a range of memorabilia used by freedom fighters—including rifles, uniforms, cooking pots and various battlefield items.
